Immerse yourself in Spanish culture. North or South Spain are both very uniquely different experiences. Landscapes, Modern Architecture & Street Portraits are the focus of this photo tour.

A slow ten day trip that will allow you to really explore micro adventures in each province.

From the fishing villages of Asturias to the gastronomic delights of the Basque country, this is a travel photographer’s mecca. An eclectic mix of seascapes to mountains and modern or traditional architecture. Each day promises to be a visual feast.

Itinerary Northern SPAIN PHOTO TOUR

Day 1 & 2 - San Sebastian is the home of Pintxos (Tapas) and exquisite cuisine. La Concha is the main beach. My photo tours are not just about shooting every hour of the day. It’s important to put your camera down to rest and play. When in the Basque country you need to check out why it has the highest concentration of Michelin Starred restaurants. I can show you where the best places to eat are without having to go fine dining and blow your budget.

Day 3, 4 & 5 San Juan de Gaztelugatxe & Liencres - Seascapes will be our focus to capture a sunrise and sunset in both locations. If time and weather permits we may also explore another great sea-side location called Barrika. The following day we will drop into Bilbao for the morning to explore the Guggenheim Museum.

Other key locations along the broken coast are Playa de Arnia, Playa de Portio and Playa de Cerrias. Be ready for some sunrise and sunset shots in most coastal locations. Depending on tides and weather forecast we wil have many choices.

Lagos De Covadonga, Peaks Of Europe National Park

Day 6 - Lagos De Covadonga in The Peaks of Europe - A short drive into the Cantabrian Province will bring us into the twin lakes of Covadonga for an over night stay. If we are lucky with a clear night we might stay on after sunset and shoot some astrophotography.

Day 7 & 8 - For our next two nights next to Playa de La Gueirua & Playa de Silencio which covers a huge area located in eastern Asturias. During the day we will visit for long lunches fishing villages Medieval in origin.

Luarca and Cudillero have been important fishing ports throughout history and still have fresh seafood and delicious restaurants. Lots of large jagged rock formations and many variations in compositions will be on offer for other key locations like Playa Portizuelo, Playa de Toro and many other hidden gems.

Day 9 & 10 Las Ubinas National Park - After all the seascapes, a change of pace and scenery will take us up into the mountain range. Here we will find abandoned villages, waterfalls and misty mountain views. The lush green forests and flowing streams at old mills will also be worth a morning bush walk. The food is also uniquely different. Dishes like Chesnut Stew and Fabada Asturiana are delicious.

Late morning we will have leisurely drive to Madrid to check in late afternoon for a final evening of shooting this beautiful city.
